Our Blog

In the blog of Pantha Corp, we share with our readers the personal view and insights we have on developments in the technology sector. And as that is nowadays quite a broad sector, we set our eyes on many diferent topics and questions facing society. We also post entries on recent developments of Pantha Corp as a company. For us, it is a part of an ongoing collaboration and communication with colleagues, clients and friends.

We have not added an entry in a very long time. I guess it goes on to show that we have been a little surprised by the sudden increase in additional work and have been under heavy workload for the whole year.

There's some really exciting changes and great projects we'll be launching in 2011 but for now let's at least list the projects we completed in 2010.

At the beginning of the year we launched SURFit for the iPhone in partnership with IDEAS System which features Live controllable beach cameras, complete with conditions report and forecast. More on this great app in this entry. http://www.panthacorp.com/2010/02/surfit_iphone_launched_worlds_f.html . The app made it into the top 10 and was also featured in the iTunes Store.

We launched Work-History for an Australian start-up whose goal is to increase the overall transparency in the workplace. I came to think of it as a verified resume with ratings & reviews provided for each of the employment periods. Will write up a more detailed overview soon. The project took us some 6 months with an average of 3 developers and we used eZPublish as the CMS.

There was BusinessCardBox, the world's most accurate business card scanning app, for the iPhone which was an internal product development. We are very happy with the first release but have since been slow in getting a substantial new release out for it (stay tuned). This niche is an interesting one and with over 5,000 cards processed we proved to ourselves that it is worth more investment.

The WWF-Australia eShop was launched this November in a very short timeframe in time for the Christmas shopping season. Finally a larger e-commerce project, launched using the open-source e-commerce solution Magento. Very rewarding experience to work for the team at WWF-Australia and great to see the success they've had since with the shop.

Two updates to ShowTheLoo were released, the last one went to the iTunes App Store only last week, which we'll speak more about very soon. We are busy working on the next major release which will incorporate all the data made available based on the Government 2.0 Taskforce initiative by the Government of Health & Ageing.
